Motorcycle Bell: The Story of Mocy Bell

1. Intro: Mocy Bell Lucky Motorcycle Bell

Mocy Bell® is short for Motorcycle Bell, the real stainless steel motorcycle bell that keeps evil spirits away from the road.

This is the original story of Mocy Bell®, the little lucky motorcycle bell, commonly called Gremlin, Spirit, Lucky or Guardian Bell.

Mocy Bell® reveals everything about our motorcycle bell which will no longer hold any secrets for all bikers and trikers around the world.

2. History of the motorcycle bell or bell

First of all, you should know that the bell is one of the oldest sound instruments we know of. We find traces of the first bells in Asia, already 4000 years ago.

The primary function of bells or small bells is to signal. In addition, their main use is to communicate between men but also with the gods.

As early as the 11th century AD, Catholics in England and Scotland rang bells to ward off evil spirits.

Thus, the use of bells hanging from windows, doors and overhangs has been used in many cultures and traditions to ward off evil spirits.

3. Gremlin Bell: From plane to motorcycle

In the 1920s, Royal Air Force pilots began reporting small creatures wreaking havoc on their planes.

They described small creatures, half human, half demon, who would enjoy sabotaging their planes. That's when the word "Gremlin" was coined, deriving from the Old English "gremman" or "gremian" meaning "to vex."

It was from there that English and then American pilots began to really use these bells or small bells to keep away the "gremlins" and many of them even claimed to have seen them just before an accident or a malfunction.

After World War II and when the American riders returned home, many of them bought Harley Davidson or Indian motorcycles and trikes and continued their friendship, mutual aid and brotherhood by creating, after these military years, biker clubs.

These former soldiers therefore continued to protect themselves from the dangers of the road and evil spirits by hanging small bells on their motorcycles.

4. Guardian Bell: The Old Biker's Story

In several states, many lives were saved, like that of a former US Air Force pilot and old biker named Jack.

His story shaped the whole legend.

A few days before Christmas, on a road in Mexico, Jack was returning from a special mission on his Harley-Davidson.

In fact, he had just left an orphanage for young children where he had left toys collected with his brothers from the road.

That evening, between dog and wolf and very tired from all those miles, he was surprised and fell violently during a hairpin bend.
He found himself completely trapped, in a ditch with a whole bunch of gremlins around him.
In very bad shape, these little diabolical creatures asked him, bribed him, in their usual din, to leave the earth to join them in hell.

Jack didn't give in.

He could still move his arms and he started throwing at them everything he could find in his pockets: his glasses, his lighter, his knife... Nothing doing!
These abject gremlins were always more numerous in asking him to die...

Then in a last effort, the old man managed to grab his little bell attached to his keys and he made it ring for several minutes…

Meanwhile, two other bikers were camping in the woods nearby and during this night that had become so dark, they heard this famous bell and approached it...

After discovering the old biker in bad shape, his life was miraculously saved!

A few weeks later, as a token of thanks, old Jack gave a small bell to his two new traveling brothers.
He told them that this bell had saved his life and that it was important for every biker or triker to have one as well.
However, he did not forget to mention to them that it was better to hang it under their motorcycle.
" We have to fix it as close to the road as possible so that the little demons get as far away from it as possible, " he told them.
" This way when they are roaming the roads, they will no longer be able to orchestrate all this damage and accidents ," he added.

Finally old Jack told them that not only was his ringing unbearable to the gremlins' sensitive ears, but also that without this protection he would already be dead.

5. Birth of the motorcycle lucky bell

The news quickly spread throughout the United States, and within months, countless bikers and trikers were wearing bells to protect themselves but also to keep alive the memory of their brothers and friends who had already disappeared on the roads.

Ultimately, this motorcycle bell had become the guardian angel and universal lucky charm for bikers!

All these American bikers said that the few dollars spent on this bell was worth it to protect their motorcycle and especially their life.
